  • Other Details
  • Named the Best Shrub Rose by Birds and Bloom in 2014, Mother of Pearl® delights gardeners with her winter hardiness and high resistance to black spot making her ideal for cooler or hot and humid climates. This Grandiflora begins with medium buds that open to display light, pearly-pink blossoms with peachy overtones. Her medium green, semi-glossy, dense foliage is displayed on a tall and upright bush, highlighting her 2.5” medium to large blooms. Mother of Pearl® produces small clusters of blooms with one to four flowers per stem with 26-40 petals on each blossom. Her light, refreshing fragrance delicately adorns this plant like a mother’s gentle perfume. Plant en masse for a stunning and prolific display of creamy roses.

So pretty and blooms a lot

I’m in Nashville. Mother of Pearl is always peach for me- never the frosted color shown in the pictures. She blooms a lot for me, large blooms, great in the vase.

My 1st rose to bloom out of the 5 I planted

Zone 6B in SW MI in the town of Three Oaks. The petals look like a pink/peach shimmery nail polish, in the best possible way. This bloomed beautifuly after it had been planted in very late Spring and didn’t miss a beat! I honestly thought that there couldnt possibly be a prettier rose, and the 4 roses planted at the same time never matched the growth on this one. I planted mine in a container, and plan on buying more.
I want to propagate some cuttings next year. You will not regret buying this glorious rose!

I planted this rose 2/17/22 and have only had one bloom. Oh my, but that one bloom was worth it. Large and beautiful. Can't wait for more blooms.

Best rose I've grown

I've had my Mother of Pearl that I got from Heirloom for a few years now and couldn't be happier with how it's flourished. It's as hardy as advertised (I live in Central Ohio where temps can dip below 0 in the winter) and black spot resistant as advertised as well. ALL of my other roses have had black spot issues because it's so wet in the spring here and then again towards the fall, but I've never had issues with Mother of Pearl. It's grown from a little one gallon pot to a 5 foot tall rose bush that I can't even wrap my arms around now and it blooms prolifically all summer and fall. Such a beautiful addition of my garden. Very happy with this choice.
