  • Morning Has Broken™ is one of Heirloom Roses' finest Shrubs from our hybridizing program. Bred from Graham Thomas® X Gold Badge, this is an outstanding yellow Shrub. Named for an old Scottish hymn and Louise's favorite song for many years, Morning Has Broken™ has the most beautiful, rich yellow, semi-double 3 ½” blooms with 15+ petals. Her blossoms change ever so gradually to soft yellow and literally cover the bush. This disease resistant, repeat blooming rose will also hold up well in the heat.

Followup

Wrote a review last year. This is a follow up. This rose does not stop blooming, even during 100 degree days. Have it in a large pot along walkway to back door. So nice to get at whiff of rose as one walks up to door. A great rose.

Great plant

Received my new rose in mid-June in Central Texas during a horrible drought. There was a pretty long wait for the plant. Poor thing had about 4 leaves and a tiny bloom when received! This rose was planted in a big plastic double lined pot. Put it in some good soil with lots of manure and fertilized with some fish as recommended. We are going through some record breaking temps...over 100 for weeks at a time. Of course, I cut off the bloom...the plant should be putting it's energy to establishing roots and leaves/stems. After 3 weeks in 100+ temps., this little guys is flourishing...every little branch has several leaves! Cannot wait till next year when some blooms come!

Very happy with this rose

Got this last year for our anniversary in June because the minister recited the words to the associated song at our wedding. Now one year later it’s almost our anniversary (47) again, the rose has produced two large buds that should be open on the day. The plant is healthy and has dark shiny leaves that will provide a stunning background. Yellow roses are my favorite.

Blooming in December!

I planted this rose early November. With the colder weather and days of rain, I postponed putting fertilizer, and thought I would wait until spring to fertilize. To my surprise, it’s December 14 and I see buds on Morning Has Broken! If it can bloom in December, I am excited to see how it will do in the spring. Very happy with all my purchases from Heirloom.
