I planted a Darlow's Enigma rose on the corner of our property and it's doing wonderfully with not much help from me. Not ten feet from a busy road, it pours out flowers all summer until frost. It's already about 5x5 feet after three summers. Other roses in my garden have been repeatedly hit with black spot, but so far the Darlow's has shown no sign of any problem. I'm planning to plant another at the edge of the backyard to deter trespassers as it would be better than an electric fence- the thorns on this rose are no joke!
Took a while to get going, but then it put on a large flush of tiny white blooms. Super cute! Can't wait to see how it grows next year!
I haven't had this rose long, but it has put out new growth faster than any of my other heirloom roses and has already given me two blooms within the first 10 days of planting! It has the sweetest little flowers; excited for the beauty it'll be when established.
