I've used a lot of Living Soil as I bought and planted roses in containers, but a couple of times I ran low and augmented it with other potting soil. I didn't think it had any plant food in it, but it did and 2 of my new roses died within a week!
A couple of other roses were having trouble with mildew even though they were partial shade rated. When I explored, I realized that the amount of mint compost was too much, and these roses were struggling in soil that was too wet. All my experience in the last year with my project to establish over 25 roses in containers (to cope with the gopher problem) tells me it's crucial to use sufficient Living Soil for the health of my plants.
The soil is fantastic product! I've purchased 3 26 quarts of the soil.
I really like this soil. Can blend in with the clay soil in my area to help with drainage
Excellent for the final top dressing of my garden of 15 rose bushes. Refresh once a year.
