I write this with such fondness, recalling buying this rose for my mother for Mother's Day in 1982. I live in zone 6, summer can be brutal with high 90's and 70-80% humidity. This rose is robust in every way. It has strong canes, beautiful dark glossy leaves, producing rich deep pink full blooms, devine fragrance and longevity! The only cons is it's quite thorny, not a problem for me but may be for others. It also can be prone to blackspot, in high humidity, but it won't kill it! This rose survived 3 transplants, 100⁰ temps, ridiculous humidity, and clay soil for 43 years. It would grow to 6ft many summers. I highly recommend this hardy, fragrant, beautiful rose that became my mother's favorite. ❤️
She thrived in sandy soil w/only 3 hours of sun a day. Strong canes, delightful bloom shape & color, exceptional fragrance -despite the hot dry climate of Tucson. Extended drought combined with extreme heat over several years did her in. This has been my all-time favorite rose for these growing conditions. Buying again.
I have had this rose for at least 4 years and I love it! It blooms in flushes and the bush gets covered in large pink blooms that smell wonderful. My bush is 6' tall.
Arrived with no leaves but the instructions said new leaves would come.
We planted this rose bush about 3 weeks ago and already have buds and a lot of leaves.
