As you can tell by the name, you won't find many rhododendrons with the beautiful coloring that Unique has. The buds initially start out salmon pink, then open to an apricot that fades to ivory with hints of pink. The blooms finally turn nearly all white toward the end of the flowering season. The dense, symmetrical shape of this shrub allows the unique colors to have a large impact and stand out in the garden. Unique is a sport of Bruce Brechtbill and is similar in growth habit, the only difference being the color of the flowers.
