I planted my Clair Matin in April here in Phoenix. It sent out multiple beautiful flushes of flowers through an unusually extended spring, but I worried a bit about the coming heat. Now in July it's faced several days of 110°F+ (116° on a couple days), and just look at this cane I found today. No less than 12 buds up and down its length! I did get Clair Matin because of its partial shade characteristic, as I have it planted in a rather protected nook of our south-facing yard, but it still gets afternoon sun. I'm so impressed and pleased. Heirloom Roses grows some seriously resilient plants!!
First flower and what a flower pop with the dark yellow center - light fragrance. Can’t wait to see where this one ends up.
I ordered this lovely rose in June 2024. At first it struggled so I transplanted it last year and it is thriving this spring in central California. It was the last to bloom this spring but wow, it has such big, beautiful clusters of roses. It makes me so happy just seeing it outside of my kitchen window.
Exquisite, incredibly fragrant. After 25 years of growing beautiful roses, Claire Matin is my all-time favorite.
